A Dublin woman has raised hundreds of euro for the DSPCA after rescuing a terrified dog from near a motorway.

Chloe O'Loughlin (@chloeolo) went viral on TikTok with over 5 millions video views when she shared her the heartwarming story.

As she was driving late one night when she had to swerve her car to avoid hitting the frightened pooch. Chloe said the dog, later named Diesel, was "very close to being killed".

Covered in paint, shaking with fear, and unsure of human touch, Diesel spent the night with Chloe before being handed into the care of the DSPCA.

Sharing the moment on TikTok, Chloe described how heartbreaking it was to find him in such a vulnerable state.

The Dublin woman went on to raise over €1000 on GoFundMe for the DSPCA following the dramatic rescue.

She said on the fundraising page: "Diesel was found late one night after running out in front of my car near a motorway. He was very close to being killed, and I had to swerve my car to avoid hurting him. He spent the night with us in a bad state.

He was petrified of people, physical touch and didn’t know what love was. We handed him up to the DSPCA, who immediately placed him in foster care and gave him emergency medical care.

I hope to raise money for the DSPCA so they can continue their work in helping rehabilitate dogs like our Diesel. Every dog and animal deserves to be loved and find their forever home."

After 10 days of treatment and foster care with the DSPCA, Diesel was finally ready for adoption. But by then, Chloe and her family had already fallen in love with him.
