Almost €10m spent on vacant homes in Louth and Meath from July to September

Q3 2025 saw the highest-ever Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant payments, with 760 grants paid

175 vacant homes in Louth and Meath have been brought into use under the government's Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant scheme.  

In Louth, €5.6m has been paid out which has brought 103 disused homes into use, while in Meath €4m was spent on 72 vacant properties.

The figures cover the third quarter of the year, from July to September.

Throughout the country, Q3 2025 saw the highest-ever Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant payments, with 760 grants paid, representing a 126% increase compared to the same period last year.

Since the scheme’s launch in July 2022, 11,059 applications have been approved.
