The order will apply from tomorrow in a bid to prevent H5N1 virus being spread to commercial flocks by wild birds
Concerns are being raised about how long the housing order for poultry will last.
It's due to take effect tomorrow because of two outbreaks of bird flu - the most recent in a turkey flock near Kells in Meath.
A 3 kilometre protection zone and a 10 kilometre surveillance zone is in place around the site.
It follows an earlier outbreak in Carlow this week, and a number of cases which have caused Fota Wildlife Park to close down temporarily.
Roscommon/Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice says the Government must give financial support to affected turkey farmers:
"The government needs to basically, if the poultry has to be basically got rid of, the Cabinet of Agriculture needs to come in and help those farmers out immediately with financial compensation because this is their livelihood, their asset, all their life.
This is absolutely no fault of theirs. It's coming basically from birds that are spreading it."
