Man (40s) arrested in connection with fatal Meath collision

Gardaí say a vehicle has also been recovered.

Gardaí investigating a fatal road collision in County Meath last Friday morning have arrested a man in his 40s.

Cyclist Ned McLoughlin, who was in his 80’s, was discovered unresponsive in the Batterstown area, and removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Today, as part of the investigation, Gardaí arrested a man. He is currently being questioned at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region.

A vehicle has also been recovered.

Any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area of Batterstown, between 9.30am and 10am last Friday morning, September 12th, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
