Storm Amy, the first named storm of the season, caused damage and destruction across the country yesterday, with the full extent becoming clearer this morning.

This page will be updated regularly throughout today with information on outages, damages and forecasts.

Power Outages

There are no widespread power outages in the North East, according to the ESB Power Check. Some locations remain without power but supply is expected to be returned this evening.

Roads

The Road Safety Authority says "All road users are being advised to be aware of the dangers once the storm has passed. When the extreme weather passes road users will still have to contend with potentially hazardous road conditions such as flooded roads and downed pylons, lines, trees, branches, and other debris which could block roads. Obey any road closures or diversions put in place by Local Authorities and An Garda Síochána."

Louth County Council says work is continuing to respond to reports of fallen trees and blockages across the county. They are encouraging members of the public contact their Out-of-Hours ‘24/7’ telephone service at 021 203 3891 if you need to report anything in your area.

Meath County Council is advising road users to remain vigilant as Storm Amy passes.

Irish Rail

Translink/Enterprise say Cross Border services are expected to resume at midday. They had previously been suspended due to debris on the track. DART services are continuing to operate this morning but Irish Rail is advising that delays are to be expected as services deal with the inclement weather.
