It's a first time ever for Ratoath to reach a provincial hurling final.
Ratoath are through to the Leinster club intermediate hurling championship final, after a 0-22 to 1-12 victory over Lusmagh of Offaly in this afternoon's semi-final.
The Meath representatives performed well in the first-half, and took a 0-15 to 0-4 advantage into the dressing room at the interval.
That gave Ratoath a healthy cushion, which meant that - despite the concession of a goal - Andy Dermody's men were able to see out the game rather comfortably.
Speaking to Davy Rispin after the match in Birr, Dermody spoke of his delight at the result, but expressed dismay about the fact that he had been sent off late on:
One of the stars of the Ratoath show was Cian Rogers, who also spoke to Davy:
The Meath champions will face Danesfort of Kilkenny in the final on December 7th at a Meath venue. It remains to be seen if Páirc Tailteann will be available given that demolition work is due to start soon, but if it is, it will likely be the last-ever game played in front of the old stand.
